What do we do?

Numbers of engineering projects are vast in the Arctic and Sub-arctic regions. Incorporating Indigenous perspectives with technical skills will enhance engineering efforts.

Many projects and research are happening on Indigenous lands and waters to better living conditions, economy, and much more. Nobody knows this land better than the people who inhabited it for thousands of years, so who better design for a better living experience than our own?

Introducing Labrador students to the world of engineering

Our team has been travelling on the North Coast of Labrador offering STEM workshops in schools, and in community center filled with locally relevant material, and fun hands-on activities!

Connecting Students with opportunities

During outreach, LEAP has connected students with their opportunities in post-secondary education with funding opportunities, different STEM programs, youth engagement, Aboriginal resources at different institutions. Offering guidance to students who wish to pursue engineering is also LEAP's priority.

Increasing networks of Indigenous Engineers

Indigenous engineers hold invaluable knowledge of both technical, and traditional. Increasing our network with other Indigenous professionals will lead to a more empowered future.
